David A. Kirshblum is an accomplished Family Law attorney with over three decades of experience in New York and New Jersey. A graduate of Fordham University School of Law (Class of 1990), he was admitted to practice in both states, as well as in the U.S. Federal Court, in 1991.
Mr. Kirshblum began his legal career at Levin & Weissman, P.C., where he practiced in Family and Matrimonial Law, Bankruptcy, and Trusts and Estates. He later joined Gorlick, Kravitz & Listhaus, P.C. in New York City, where he directed the Legal services program for multiple unions, including Mason Tenders Local 79, the Day Care Council, and New York City Traffic Enforcement Agents. He also led the firm’s Matrimonial and Family Law Department, representing clients across all five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, and upstate New York.
In March 1998, Mr. Kirshblum was appointed as a Family Court jurist, serving with distinction for 24 years. During his tenure, he presided over numerous high-profile cases involving public figures such as Mick Jagger, Al Pacino, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Wesley Snipes, Ice-T, Lil Wayne, and Harvey Keitel. His deep experience on the bench has provided him with a rare dual perspective—understanding family law both from the viewpoint of a judge and a practicing attorney.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kirshblum has been a lecturer for the New York State Bar Association, sharing his expertise on family law and mentoring judges now presiding in Supreme Court Matrimonial Parts and Family Courts across New York City.
Today, he brings his judicial insight and practical wisdom back to private practice, offering clients compassionate, strategic, and effective representation in all areas of family law — including divorce, child custody, child support, and matrimonial disputes.
Outside the courtroom, Mr. Kirshblum enjoys spending time with his wife of over thirty years, their three adult children, and two grandchildren. Family remains at the heart of his life and his practice.
