Peter Tilem is a highly accomplished attorney with nearly 30 years of experience in criminal, civil, commercial, real estate, estate, and family law litigation. He began his legal career in 1991 as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan, where he prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, including homicides, white collar crimes, and high profile violent and non violent felonies. His work at the DA’s office received recognition from multiple New York City Police Department divisions and he contributed extensively to the training of police officers, prosecutors, and public school students.
After leaving the DA’s office in 2001 as a Senior Prosecutor, Mr. Tilem founded Lenihan & Tilem, LLP, representing individuals in high-profile and complex cases, appearing frequently on federal and state courts. He later founded Tilem & Associates, PC, where he has built a highly skilled legal team and continues to represent clients in complex, high profile cases, often serving as a legal commentator for media outlets.
