Founding Partner | 9/11 Victim Compensation & Disability Law
New York & New Jersey | 36 Years of Experience
Troy G. Rosasco is nationally recognized for his lifelong dedication to representing the 9/11 community. Since shortly after September 11, 2001, he has devoted his legal career to advocating for first responders, residents, workers, and families affected by toxic exposure and loss related to the World Trade Center attacks. He is widely regarded as one of the leading 9/11 attorneys in the United States.
In October 2001, Mr. Rosasco was asked to represent the family of a victim who perished when the towers collapsed. He successfully secured significant compensation and burial benefits, and—as he did for all of his early 9/11 cases—he waived his legal fee. For more than two decades, he has continued to represent 9/11 victims and their families, helping them pursue maximum compensation through the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.
Mr. Rosasco is a founding partner of Hansen & Rosasco, LLP, a firm dedicated exclusively to representing 9/11 victims and their families. Under his leadership, the firm has recovered more than $500 million on behalf of eligible claimants. He also assists clients with coordinating all related benefit claims, including Social Security Disability, New York State Workers’ Compensation, New York City and State disability retirement pensions, Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB), and other available programs.
A graduate of Cornell University and St. John’s University School of Law, Mr. Rosasco has written extensively on the 9/11 claims process and is a frequent lecturer for both the public and legal professionals. He has appeared on NBC News, ABC News, and Fox News and has been quoted in the New York Law Journal, New York Times, New York Daily News, and Newsday on issues affecting 9/11 survivors.
Mr. Rosasco has been consistently selected as a Super Lawyer in the area of mass and toxic torts for his representation of individuals exposed to toxins in Lower Manhattan. He is also a former Adjunct Professor at St. John’s University School of Law, where he taught courses on the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund and disability law.
Committed to giving back, Mr. Rosasco and his wife established the endowed Troy & Linda Rosasco 9/11 Memorial Scholarship at St. John’s University School of Law to support students with financial need.
